Message from the Acting Country Director

Dearest Friends at School,

"It's a brand new day... Tat-ta-ta-ta-ta."

I found myself singing that tune in my mind when I woke up this morning. Being the breakfast person that I am, it is not strange to look forward to having a good meal, but truth be told that I am not somebody who latch on tunes for food; so it must be something else.

Praying as I go about my morning routine, I realized that this is my first day at the office as acting country director of ACSI Philippines. For several weeks now I have been praying what to write on my welcome letter. Nothing hits me... until this morning. The Lord was the One who welcomed me, and it is the same welcome I extend to you, my dear esteemed colleagues in the academe.

It's a brand new day, as the Lord's mercies are new every morning. Turning a new leaf in the office is a cue for fresh adventures we will face together. With excitement, we will take on greater challenges to keep us abreast of the here and now and be attuned to the inevitable changing future. It is a comfort to know that we have each other to encourage and support, and the Lord to draw the much needed strength and wisdom.

While the office transitions into the new school year and leadership, meetings will be held and plans will be drafted. Expectations need to be pushed up and would have to be subsequently met. Even on the mind-draft level, it is as exciting as it is overwhelming. I feel like I am a toddler again, wobbling on my iffy legs. Once again the Lord gently reminded me that I am not on my own and that ACSI is His, and never mine.

Pushing forward, we will march along.

With arms linked in prayers, there's no defeat.

Oopppssss! I need to get ready for work now. Sorry to cut this short, but I really need to run along. Till the next letter... Tat-ta-ta-ta-ta... :)
